"Love is a burning thing
and it makes a fiery ring
bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire.
(chorus)
I fell into a burnin' ring o' fire
I went down down down
and the flames got higher
and it burns burns burns
the ring of fire
THE RING OF FIRE"

-Johnny Cash

From Nothing Productions is well underway into the production of "Ring of Fire," a riveting documentary about the mysterious fiasco that halted the production of feature length romantic comedy, "Work." Rising stars Benjamin Nathan Moseley and Russell Lee Debusk, Jr. were playing two of the four lead roles in "Work," until the first week of March, when the producer/director, yours truly, got the infamous call from Sidewalk Filmfest Director Erik Jambor, letting me know that I would once again be in search of actors. Erik had heard before I had that the two promising young actors had been arrested, and now stand indicted on charges of arson...not just any arson, but the burning of several rural Alabama churches in February of '06...an incident that unfortunatly interupted the momentum of the filming of "Work." But alas..."Work" is postponed, and now we instead attempt to bring you the most honest, most objective, most intensive and insightful look at the story behind the hype of the Alabama Church Burnings of '06--a documentary called "Ring of Fire," appropriately borrowing a name from a song by "hellraiser" Johnny Cash. Having worked so closely with Russ and Ben, we here at FNP have the best view of the behind the scenes controversy surrounding the interuption of "Work," Birmingham's first "home-made" blockbuster. You can look forward to seeing "Ring of Fire" at the Sidewalk Film Festival this fall, and "Work" to re-begin pre-production this summer, to wrap in the winter, and rocket into festivals and theatres next spring. "Work" should be bigger and badder this time around, because FNP producers are currently in negotiations with venture capitalists and candidates for Prodco partners. Rumor is, Jack Black is in our sights for the open role of Sol...

NEWSFLASH: Russell Lee DeBusk Jr. and Benjamin Nathan Moseley, stars of From Nothing Productions' feature-length romantic comedy "Work," were arrested in conjunction with Alabama church arsons.

Brian Wilson, writer and director of Birmingham-filmed "Work," reacted Thursday to the arrest of two of his stars in conjunction with nine fires in rural Alabama churches in early February.
"The news blew me away," he said. "I certainly didn"t expect or see that coming."

Benjamin Nathan Moseley, 19, and Russell Lee DeBusk Jr., 19, were playing the roles of Davis and Cloyd in the feature-length romantic comedy at the time of their arrests. "Work," filmed in Birmingham by From Nothing Productions, is the story of recent college graduate Davis's struggles and misadventures in "the real world" and with love. Davis loses his lover Jill, which causes him to re-evaluate his priorities in life. He finally realizes that chasing your dreams is the highest goal in life, and goes all out with a romantic, secret plot to win her back with a never-before attempted feat. DeBusk played Davis, while Moseley was cast as his partying friend Cloyd. Moseley suggested that his character, originally named Sol, be called Cloyd, a reference to his close friend, the third alleged arsonist, Matthew Lee Cloyd, 20. DeBusk and Moseley are currently being held in the Shelby County (Alabama) Jail.
DeBusk and Moseley were cast in the roles in the fall of 2005. Wilson said that at the audition for “Work,” the two displayed a great deal of camaraderie.
"They marketed themselves as a team," he recalled. "They were a package - they played off each other. They wore similar clothing and displayed strong chemistry. They really worked well together."
Wilson, who has extensive footage of Moseley and DeBusk acting in the film, said that since the arrest of his two stars, production of "Work" is taking a new direction. His production company, From Nothing Productions, is now seeking to cast replacements for Moseley and DeBusk. He is shopping the script to well-known actors to find replacements for the two roles.

Here's what's cookin' at FNP--

1. The final audition for work has come. We should be able to cast the remaining roles and begin shooting within the month. More details to come after the audition, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

2. I have recently been able to spend much more time on FNP, so I am getting the other arms of FNP going strong (wedding, party and event production), and making money to help fund the film "Work."
